On 17 de abril, Amerex team members joined with the Trussville community to celebrate the grand opening of the Amerex Miracle Field with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and dedication event. The ceremony marked the official launch of this inclusive sports facility, designed to provide children and adults of all abilities with the opportunity to participate in baseball and softball. Key figures, including Trussville Mayor Buddy Choat, Stephanie Langford—a parent of a Miracle League participant who played a crucial role in bringing the field to the community, Amerex President and CEO Harrison Bishop and McWane Chairman Phillip McWane, delivered speeches at the event.
Located at the Trussville Sports Complex, the Amerex Miracle Field is a state-of-the-art facility designed by architect Ryan Vernon of Lathan Architects, son of Amerex IT Manager David Vernon. The graphics were created by Amerex Marketing Designer Nancy Heard. The field features a specialized playing surface that ensures safety and accessibility for all players, including fully accessible dugouts and other amenities for individuals with special needs. This project was made possible through a generous $500,000 donation from Amerex Corporation and its parent McWane, Inc., in partnership with the City of Trussville.
Bishop expressed the company's commitment to community and inclusivity, "At Amerex and all of the McWane Inc. family of companies, we are committed to protecting lives, whether through fire safety or by investing in projects that build stronger, more inclusive communities. This gift is the result of the efforts and commitment of the entire Amerex team.”
Langford shared her gratitude, "Kids with special needs have every right to be a part of the community, and thanks to Amerex, we now have a place where they can play and be included. This field is more than just a sports facility; it's a symbol of acceptance and opportunity for our children."
The opening of the Amerex Miracle Field is a significant milestone for the Trussville community, providing a space where memories will be made and the entire community can come together. This inclusive field stands as a testament to the power of community support and corporate philanthropy in creating opportunities for all.
