Kennedy Valve is pleased to announce the re-shoring of rotating disc gate valves from Thailand back to Elmira, New York.  These valves were originally designed and produced 90 minutes from Elmira at American Darling in the early 1900's.  Ownership of this design changed hands over the last century until it reached McWane's American R/D division in 2007.  Valve production remained in Thailand for American R/D until late 2012.

Long lead times and increased foreign pricing has prompted the return of manufacturing to the United States.  Kennedy Valve's existing resources have resumed production of all components of the valve from molding, machining and coating through assembly.  This event marks the return trip back home for a valve that has been in use in America's waterworks infrastructure since 1908.  The valves will continue to be marketed by American R/D under the ARD label.

This rotating gate valve joins a full line of American-made cast and ductile iron waterworks products that are manufactured in the U.S. by the McWane family of companies.
